The Canadian Association of Professional Speakers (CAPS) was
established to serve the needs of professional speakers in Canada.
Professional speakers are those who earn their living in part
or whole through the art of public speaking, training or facilitating.
CAPS has eight chapters, one cyber networking group, and holds
an annual convention. In addition, CAPS belongs to the International
Federation for Professional Speakers, which has over 5000 members.
For further information visit the CAPS website at www.canadianspeakers.org.
The CAPS Calgary Chapter was founded in March of 1996 and meets
on the third Saturday of each month from September to June.
CAPS and its chapters help members build their businesses through
sharing expertise on a range of topics. Programming includes
presentations on platform skills, marketing, topic development,
product development and distribution, working with bureaus and
agents, utilizing technology and business management. Inspiring
expert speakers from across North America present at the meetings
addressing these and other speaking competencies.
For aspiring or developing professional speakers, CAPS Calgary periodically offers the Fast Track program, a six-month intensive program focusing on all aspects of the professional speaking business. Click on Special Upcoming Events to see if there is one scheduled in the near future.
CAPS Calgary helps aspiring and established speakers move to
the next level in professional speaking. This is reflected in
the chapters mission:
We Inspire Professional Speaking Excellence. |
